Event, portrait, documentary, and annual report photography are the specialties of Marilyn Humphries Photography. Marilyn’s work spans photojournalism and the world of non-profits, and she brings sensitivity and know-how to meet the needs of her clients. In addition to having a great eye for the right photographic moment, she knows that keen listening and an understanding of what clients need are top priorities for both them and her. Complementing her work in the corporate and non-profit worlds is her documentation of progressive social change movements in the Boston area. For over two decades she has focused on the LGBT community, women’s issues, labor, and healthcare issues. Her photographs have appeared in Bay Windows, The Boston Phoenix, Boston Spirit Magazine, and South End News, as well as Barron’s, MS Magazine, The New York Times, US News and World Report and Business Week. In 2007, Beacon Press published a book of her photographs Courting Equality: A Documentary History of America’s First Legal same-Sex Marriages.
